Definition: Provide information and knowledge about violence, victim rights, and crime victimization, with the primary purpose at increasing awareness of available services and how to access services. Outreach may include developing relationships with community members, groups and “gatekeepers” aimed at increasing trust and understanding of the role of the “Peer Advocate Navigator”.
Goal: Increase the community’s ability to respond to individuals who have been hurt or harmed, increase access to services, increase awareness of the availability of services and improve community safety.
Direct Service Activities: ∙ Outreach with emphasis on underserved, inadequately served and unserved communities ∙ Community education events ∙ Public speaking/presentations ∙ Distribution of materials ∙ Development of curricula, training materials and educational tools.
